How to play Queens
Solve the queens placement puzzle: fill the board with as many queens as there are rows while keeping every queen out of another queen’s line of attack. Queens attack along rows, columns and both diagonals. Start from an empty board and revise your placements until every queen is safe.
Choose your difficulty

| Medium | 8 × 8 board; place eight queens. |
| Hard | 10 × 10 board; place ten queens. |

Click or tap a square to place or remove a queen. Use Check to identify conflicts, Hint for a compatible placement, and Reset to clear the board.
A tip for your first round
Work row by row, checking both diagonals whenever you place a queen. If a partial arrangement cannot be completed, remove a queen and try a different column.

What makes a placement valid?
No two queens may occupy the same row, column or diagonal.
Does a hint replace my queens?
Hints look for a solution consistent with your current placements. If your arrangement cannot be completed, remove or move a queen first.
