SimCity 3000 cheat codes and how to use them
SimCity 3000 opens a cheat-entry box with Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C. Its commands include free construction and building unlocks. This is a different interface from SimCity 2000’s direct typing and SimCity 4’s Ctrl+X box.

Setup and activation
- Make a new city save before changing its rules.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C together.
- Type the full phrase in the entry box.
- Confirm and inspect the relevant construction menu or budget.

Version notes and help
Unlocking is not automatic placement
A newly available building still needs to be chosen and placed. Inspect the correct service menu rather than looking for an instant completed plant. Keep the normal infrastructure layout in mind when using an unlock to test a design.
Free construction can hide costs
Removing the initial building price is useful for experimenting, but it does not demonstrate that a city has a sustainable budget. Compare the test against the normal save if your goal is learning how to expand affordably.
Keep menu changes separate
Use a single unlock at a time and note which options appeared. Opening every service at once can make it harder to understand which part of the normal progression was blocking you. A named test save makes it easy to return to the ordinary city.
Use the correct title’s input
The Ctrl+X box belongs to SimCity 4. Directly typing a SimCity 2000 word over the map is not the method described here. Start by checking the game’s title before treating a missing cheat box as a keyboard problem.
