SimCity 2000 cheat codes and how to use them
SimCity 2000 cheats vary substantially by platform. Type them during a running city, but choose the version-specific phrase: imacheat is Windows 95 advice, while torg is a DOS 1.1 code. Save first because some apparent money bonuses also carry disaster risks.

Use cheats only in a single-player game or an authorized private session. Keep an untouched save before changing a game state. This is an independent text guide. SimCity 2000 is not available to play on Gamehub.

- Identify whether you launched DOS, Windows 3.1 or Windows 95.

- Return to the city view and type the appropriate word.
- Inspect the result and reload the untouched file if needed.

Version notes and help
Check the release before diagnosing failure
The executable matters more than the operating system currently hosting it. A DOS copy running in an emulator still needs DOS instructions, even on a modern Windows computer. The DOS vers code helps identify its internal release.
Loans are not grants
FUND creates a costly bond. Read the financial consequences before accepting it and do not keep borrowing merely to test whether the keyboard works. A temporary cash balance can conceal a city that cannot pay its ongoing costs.
Protect the city experiment
Some cheats trigger events or unlock options that are difficult to unwind. Keep the old city file and give the test a separate name. A debug menu offers more than one action, so opening it does not mean every button is harmless.
Common questions
Why does imacheat not work in DOS?
It is a Windows 95 phrase; the documented DOS 1.1 grant is torg.
Is cass risk-free money?
No. The specialist reference documents a disaster chance.
