No Man’s Sky cheats: free crafting and Custom difficulty
No Man’s Sky offers built-in Custom difficulty instead of requiring typed cheat codes. The game can reduce survival pressure, make crafting free and change combat challenge through supported options. Some settings have mode or creation-time restrictions.

Setup and activation
- Back up the save you want to preserve.
- Open the pause menu and find Difficulty settings.
- Choose a suitable preset or adjust the available individual settings.
- Read any restrictions before locking settings or starting a Permadeath-style game.
Version notes and help
Choose the pressure you want to remove
If collecting fuel is the problem, inspect fuel-use settings; if construction is the goal, inspect crafting costs. Those are different controls. Reducing survival-management pressure does not automatically mean every recipe is unlocked or every story objective completed.
Creative and Relaxed serve different goals
Creative focuses on unrestricted construction and exploration. Relaxed retains more of the normal progression while reducing resource and survival demands. Start with the less intrusive option when you still want discoveries and upgrades to feel earned, then tune further if the remaining resource loop is not enjoyable.
Some decisions are restricted
The Waypoint framework allows many changes during play, but not every mode or setting is freely interchangeable. Permadeath and Expedition have their own boundaries. Check the currently displayed setting descriptions before confirming an irreversible choice; a general cheat list cannot guarantee what is editable in a particular save.
Common questions
Do I need to download a trainer?
No. This page describes the game’s own facilities. It does not require an external executable, a paid cheat subscription or changes to an online account.
How should I test these changes?
Keep a separate unmodified save, make one change at a time and check the result before continuing. Reversing a toggle does not necessarily reverse everything that happened while it was active.
