Heretic Cheat Codes: Original PC
Heretic’s original PC codes are words typed during gameplay. QUICKEN enables god mode, RAMBO supplies the weapon package, and SKEL gives keys. Doom’s familiar codes are not interchangeable with Heretic’s.

Use cheats only in a single-player game or an authorized private session. Keep an untouched save before changing a game state. This is an independent text guide. Heretic is not available to play on Gamehub.
Setup and activation
- Make a save before altering equipment or position.
- Load a single-player level below the highest skill.
- Type a listed word directly during gameplay.
- Watch the status message and HUD for the effect.

Version notes and help
Keep the fantasy games separate
Heretic and Hexen share technology but not their cheat vocabulary. In particular, RAMBO is useful in Heretic but is deliberately punitive in Hexen. Always identify the game before entering a code from memory. A cheat acknowledgement confirms recognition, rather than a hidden menu opening.
Use the smallest intervention
PONCE is enough when you only need to recover from a difficult fight. RAMBO changes your weapon progression, and SKEL bypasses key collection. Preserve the original save if you want to solve the map’s normal route after testing a shortcut.
Common questions
Why do codes fail at the highest skill?
The original game disables most cheats on that setting. A lower skill is the appropriate environment for a cheat session.
Will this activate the remaster cheat menu?
This guide describes typed entry in the original PC game. Enhanced releases can expose a different menu or console and should be checked separately.
