FTL: Faster Than Light Cheat Codes: PC / Advanced Edition
Standard FTL does not provide a normal built-in cheat-code entry screen or supported player console. For an easier unmodified run, select Easy and use the game’s pause system. Advanced Edition content is optional and changes the tools and encounters available.

Use cheats only in a single-player game or an authorized private session. Keep an untouched save before changing a game state. This is an independent text guide. FTL: Faster Than Light is not available to play on Gamehub.
Setup and activation
- Start a new run rather than changing an existing save externally.
- Choose Easy on the ship setup screen.
- Choose whether to enable Advanced Edition content before beginning.
- Pause with Space whenever you need time to issue crew or power orders.
Version notes and help
Pause is a planning tool
The game allows crew orders and power changes while paused. Stop when a boarding party arrives, a fire spreads or a weapon charges; issue the response before resuming. This gives time to understand the situation without changing resources or unlocking equipment.
Advanced Edition is a choice, not a cheat
The free update adds systems including hacking, mind control and the clone bay. Disabling its content reduces the number of unfamiliar mechanics but does not restore every older balance value. Hard difficulty was also introduced with Advanced Edition.
Protect legitimate unlocks
Subset’s support FAQ discusses recovery for corrupted profiles. Recovery is different from a claim that a secret typed phrase supplies unlimited scrap. Keep profile backups and use the developer’s recovery advice if progress is genuinely lost.
Common questions
What is the unlimited-scrap code?
There is no standard built-in player code supplied here. Claims involving an external editor or modified executable are a different category.
Can I command crew while paused?
Yes. Pause is part of normal play, so use it to assign repairs, move crew and adjust system power before time resumes.
