Far Cry Cheat Codes: Original 2004 PC developer mode
The original Far Cry PC release has developer-mode hotkeys. Launch with -DEVMODE before loading the campaign. This is distinct from the later Far Cry games, and some retail builds need additional setup for god mode.

Use cheats only in a single-player game or an authorized private session. Keep an untouched save before changing a game state. This is an independent text guide. Far Cry is not available to play on Gamehub.
Setup and activation
- Keep a normal campaign save.
- Add -DEVMODE after the game executable in its shortcut or launch options.
- Start the game using that shortcut and load a single-player level.
- Press a listed hotkey during gameplay, not as text in the console.

Version notes and help
God mode is build-dependent
Backspace is commonly documented for developer god mode, but some installed devmode.lua files do not define its binding. This table avoids presenting it as guaranteed. Do not replace scripts blindly just because a hotkey fails; first confirm the executable and build.
Checkpoint jumps change your run
F2 is a shortcut to a later checkpoint, not a solution to the fight in front of you. Use it in a separate session. After testing camera or clipping keys, return to the normal view and a clear position before continuing your saved campaign.
Common questions
Is -DEVMODE a console command?
No. It is a launch argument. Restart the executable with it rather than typing it during play.
Do these hotkeys work in Far Cry 2?
No. Far Cry 2 uses a different engine and has different configuration behavior.
