Version notes and help
Map numbers are not episode numbers
Unlike the first game, Doom II’s main campaign does not use an episode digit in its warp code. MAP07 is 07. The standard campaign has 32 maps, so do not treat a larger accepted number as an installed level.
Explore without losing your route
Use the map reveal before resorting to noclip. Crossing a wall can bypass a switch, lift, key pickup or encounter that the intended route uses. If a later event does not trigger, reload the saved position and follow the normal route.
Common questions
Does idspispopd work here?
Use idclip in the original Doom II executable. Some source ports recognize both, which can obscure the distinction.
Does idfa give keys?
No. Choose idkfa when you also need the map’s keys; choose idfa to preserve the key hunt.
