Civilization VI debug console: reveal the map on PC
Civilization VI’s PC debug menu can reveal the map. This is a documented community debugging workflow, not an official universal gold-code menu. Firaxis also supplies FireTuner within its separate Development Tools for more advanced testing.

Use cheats only in a single-player game or an authorized private session. Keep an untouched save before changing a game state. This is an independent text guide. Civilization VI is not available to play on Gamehub.

Version notes and help
Find your actual settings file
Older Windows instructions place AppOptions.txt under Documents/My Games/Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. Later installations may use the Firaxis folder under local application data, and store-specific folders can differ. Edit the file used by your installation rather than creating a new unrelated file with the same name.
A debugging view is not a victory
Seeing the map does not complete research, generate a treasury or finish objectives. It is useful for testing starts and examining a generated world. If you want an easier ordinary game, the official manual identifies Settler as the easiest difficulty and Prince as the baseline without special player or AI bonuses.
FireTuner is a separate workflow
Firaxis lists FireTuner as an in-game debugging and editing tool in the Development Tools package. Its existence does not make arbitrary Lua snippets into chat cheats. This short guide deliberately avoids unverified resource-editing expressions and stays with the documented map-view example.
Common questions
Do I need to download a trainer?
No. This page describes the game’s own facilities. It does not require an external executable, a paid cheat subscription or changes to an online account.
How should I test these changes?
Keep a separate unmodified save, make one change at a time and check the result before continuing. Reversing a toggle does not necessarily reverse everything that happened while it was active.
