Caesar III cheat codes and how to use them
Caesar III hides its cheat activation behind a well’s information window. Right-click a well and press Alt+K, then close the window. Alt+C adds money when the treasury is below 5,000 denarii, while Alt+V skips ahead by winning the assignment.

Version notes and help
A precise activation sequence
The well matters: pressing Alt+K over the map is not the same as using it while the well’s information is open. Follow the sequence in order before diagnosing a broken hotkey. This page covers the PC keyboard controls rather than Macintosh Command-key instructions.
The cash ceiling matters
If the treasury is already at or above 5,000 denarii, the money shortcut is not a useful test. Check the balance first. The shortcut provides breathing room, but it does not fix missing employment, food delivery or access problems in a city.
Avoid accidental promotion
C and V sit beside each other on the keyboard. Since Alt+V wins the mission, save before repeatedly pressing the cash combination. Keep the unassisted city in a separate slot if you want to continue improving it rather than leave for the next assignment.
Original versus modern recreations
Julius and Augustus are separate projects. Additional consoles or commands described for them should not be assumed to exist in the original Sierra executable.
Common questions
Why does Alt+C do nothing?
Check both well-based activation and the treasury’s 5,000-denarii limit.
Can I undo Alt+V?
Reload the city save made before winning the assignment.
