Baldur’s Gate 3 cheats: Explorer and Custom alternatives
Baldur’s Gate 3 does not provide a standard player-facing text cheat console. Explorer and Custom difficulty offer supported ways to reduce the challenge. Honour mode has distinct restrictions and should not be treated as an ordinary switchable campaign.

Use cheats only in a single-player game or an authorized private session. Keep an untouched save before changing a game state. This is an independent text guide. Baldur’s Gate 3 is not available to play on Gamehub.
Setup and activation
- Open an ordinary campaign’s pause menu.
- Choose Difficulty and review the current mode.
- Select Explorer or inspect the available Custom options.
- Read the restrictions before confirming a Custom or Honour-related change.
Version notes and help
Explorer is a real rules preset
Explorer increases party durability and softens several combat and economy pressures. It also restricts multiclassing, so it is not identical to Balanced with one numerical slider reduced. If your aim is to keep a particular character build, inspect Custom options rather than assuming every easier preset permits the same build choices.
Honour and Custom restrictions
Honour uses a single-save structure and additional boss rules. Some Custom settings are locked at campaign creation, and a Custom game cannot simply be returned to the three ordinary preset modes. Check the confirmation text instead of assuming every choice is reversible.
Use tactics before forcing game state
A short rest, a long rest when appropriate, changed positioning or different prepared spells can solve a difficult encounter without editing a save. This page intentionally avoids trainer downloads and invented gold-console commands; its alternatives are controls that exist in the standard difficulty interface.
Common questions
Do I need to download a trainer?
No. This page describes the game’s own facilities. It does not require an external executable, a paid cheat subscription or changes to an online account.
How should I test these changes?
Keep a separate unmodified save, make one change at a time and check the result before continuing. Reversing a toggle does not necessarily reverse everything that happened while it was active.
