Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition cheat codes and how to use them
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition accepts resource and map phrases through the chat line in solo play. The wood code really includes angle brackets: type <censored>, rather than replacing it with another word.

Setup and activation
- Load a single-player campaign or a cheats-enabled private skirmish.
- Make a separate save before changing resources.
- Press Enter and type the entire phrase, avoiding trailing spaces.

Version notes and help
Resources depend on the civilization
Coin is the money resource named by the phrase. Export is a separate resource used by Asian civilizations, so gaining export may not solve a European civilization’s immediate problem. Check the resource you actually need before entering a long phrase.
Campaign and challenge progress
Cheats can invalidate challenge completion and normal progression rewards. Treat this as a separate experiment rather than an achievement run. Store a clean save before spawning special units or advancing a mission.
Exact spelling matters
The ampersand in nova & orion and the angle brackets in <censored> belong to the code. A trailing space pasted from a webpage can also prevent a match. Copy one phrase, inspect it and submit it once instead of sending a paragraph of commands.
